Job Description

The Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for developing & reviewing metadata and vocabularies that aids the automatic classification of website content. As an ideal candidate, you are driven, curious, flexible, analytical, and detail-oriented. You take pride in your organizational skills and have a passion for performing research and synthesizing your findings. You naturally find problems and delight in identifying appropriate solutions.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Build and refine content categories as well as complete taxonomies by creating training sets, test cases, and vocabularies
  • Determine misclassifications and gaps in data coverage; identify contributing causes and help identify ways to resolve them to increase precision/recall
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams on ideas to enhance the categorization processes
  • Analyze & interpret patterns from web traffic using statistical techniques/command line tools
  • Leverage both manual and automated solutions in order to better classify and categorize data

 

Experience You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics or a related technical discipline
  • 1-2 years professional experience in a data analyst, QA or similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities
  • Desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable in technical environments and happy to learn new systems as needed
  • Ability to context switch between systems-level thinking and attention to minute details
  • Strong time management skills and demonstrated success in handling multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Ability to balance quick decision-making with attention to quality and accuracy
  • Familiarity with information precision/recall concepts
  • Solid experience with the following technologies will give you a head start:
    • Linux command line tools
    • Excel spreadsheets/pivot tables
    • Statistical Analysis and/or SQL experience
    • Scripting experience in Python or similar technologies
  • Experience in Jenkins and Jira is a plus
