    Job Title:  Accounting Intern- Financial Reporting & Policy

    Location:  Reston, VA

     

    WHAT DO YOU DO AS AN INTERN AT COMSCORE?

     

    You’ll be part of a team that is responsible for all SEC reporting and accounting policy conclusions. This team works across the accounting function and closely with many non-accounting stakeholders to develop appropriate US GAAP accounting policies to ensure that significant transactions are appropriately accounted for. We are responsible for SEC filings, in particular the filing of Forms 10-K and 10-Q.

     

    WHAT DO YOU DO DAY TO DAY?

    • Assist with the tie-out and other procedures with respect to the Company’s Forms 10-K and 10-Q as applicable.
    • Get involved in ad-hoc reporting projects and support the development of the Company’s accounting positions.
    • Support the Company’s implementation of ASC 606 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
    • Work on other accounting projects that are identified to ensure the implementation of best practices across the accounting organization.

     

    WHAT SKILLS WILL HELP ENSURE YOUR SUCCESS?

    • Moderate, or strong, understanding of Excel
    • Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal.
    • Ability to confidently and effectively communicate to all levels within the Company
    • Ability and desire to work effectively and meet deadlines.
    • Pro-active, independent thinker with high energy/positive attitude

    OTHER INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

    • Be a rising undergraduate junior or senior at an accredited university of college with an Accounting or similar major
    • Full-time undergraduate student
