We are seeking a Lead Data Analyst, in our Reston VA location, to mine our vast array of data assets and generate insights for our customers (internal and external). The lead analyst is primarily responsible for delivering insights that drive the organization to improve data quality, robustness of our processes, and enhancement of methodologies. Your work will be client focused and will drive business strategies that directly impact prominent industry leaders. You must be self-motivated, possess strong communication and storytelling skills, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment while managing shifting priorities. You must iterate rapidly and be comfortable taking educated risks.
Problems we are solving:
- How do audiences consume linear TV and digital content, and which sites or platforms are changing the behavior of video consumption
- How is traditional TV consumption changing and how is it shifting across other platforms
- What is the incremental audience available to publishers across platforms
- What are the organic drivers impacting client facing metrics
What You'll Do:
Drive analytics initiatives spanning multiple teams and functions
Collaborate with team members in Software Engineering, Product Management, and Production Operations teams to deliver data on-time and with quality
Contribute to internal knowledge management activities in support of improving methodology and data expertise across our teams
Storytelling informed by data assets, and communicating underlying drivers that explain trends in client data
Lead by example and at times mentor junior team members in internal data, tools, and processes to foster a high performing work culture
What You'll Need:
An advanced degree in a quantitatively focused discipline (i.e., Statistics or Economics, Data/Computer Science or Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computation Finance, Operations Research, Mathematics or Physics, etc.)
6+ years of experience in the synthesis of research findings, and making data driven arguments
Expertise at querying and manipulating petabytes of complex, and disparate data in preparation for analytics or data visualization using SQL, Spark, R/Python, etc.
Convey cohesive story lines grounded in quantitative and qualitative research
Organize complex information, frame ambiguous business problems, and translate them into actionable insights
Have great communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to explain complex ideas simply and concisely
Enjoy collaborating with team members and remain positive in the face of adversity
Thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and dead-line driven culture while not sacrificing our credibility
Learn complex methodologies quickly, and draw on your creative problem-solving skills to achieve results
