    Job Title:  Immigration Specialist

    Location:  Reston, VA

     

    About This Role:

    The Immigration Specialist manages the execution of comScore’s immigration program and provides direct support to employees and leaders in the US and Canada.  In this hands-on role, the Immigration Specialist will work with our outside immigration counsel and vendor, focusing on comScore’s corporate immigration program. You will partner with HR, Recruiting, Hiring Managers and Business Leaders, and Employees to support new, current and transferring employees.

     

    What You’ll Do:

    • Manage the overall relationship with comScore’s immigration vendor to ensure business and employee needs are met in order to ensure legal compliance with immigration laws and regulations
    • Track and take appropriate action on upcoming visa expiration dates
    • Manage vendor immigration inbox – Triage and respond to requests for information from outside immigration counsel
    • Exercise initiative in organizing work, tracking cases, and escalating complex problems.
    • Maintain appropriate information in our immigration records, including Public Access Files
    • Initiate immigration cases with external vendor
    • Complete mandatory paperwork relating to new visa cases and extensions including H1B, L, F1 STEM Extensions, Green Cards, and others 
    • Serve as the immigration subject matter expert and educate managers and employee on immigration laws and processes
    • Build relationships with HR, Recruiting, Employees, and Managers across the organization, and respond to questions regarding immigration requirements and timelines
    • Monitor changes to employment status, job title, office location and salary and notify our third- party vendor
    • Assist with drafting and reviewing business visa and travel letters
    • Continuously improve and document immigration processes
    • Provide support in other miscellaneous projects and tasks related to relocation, employee transfers, and international assignments
    • Provide excellent customer service and maintain high standards for all work performed, working on a high volume of requests under tight deadlines

     

    What You’ll Bring:

    • BA/BS degree or equivalent
    • 3+ years of Immigration experience (in-house immigration corporate program or immigration law firm)
    • Experience with H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, PERM, F-1 OPT/CPT and visas preferred
    • Ability to understand the big picture of work processes with demonstrated strength in analytical and implication thinking and an ability to focus on finding creating solutions to complex problems
    • Previous program and project management experience in an HR and/or immigration setting strongly preferred
    • Strong interest in immigration and global mobility
    • Resourcefulness and initiative to ask questions to ensure understanding of complex topics, and an eagerness to learn and grow
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize many tasks and complete tasks with accuracy and efficiency to meet deadlines
    • Exceptionally clear and open communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality
