    Job Title: Data Analyst

    Location: Reston, Va

     

    About This Role:

     

    This role is for a dedicated individual proficient in big data analysis, design, and development of cross platform audience measurement products. You will have direct impact towards innovating measurement solutions that drive business strategies for comScore's Fortune 500 client base. You will analyze big data, design solutions, and collaborate across functional teams to bring data solutions to market. Creative problem solving, self-motivation, and strong communication skills are must haves. You will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with complex data problems, vague requirements, and rapid iterations. You will need to be comfortable taking risks.

     

    Problems we are solving: What, where, and when do people consume content? Which publishers and platforms are changing consumer consumption behaviors? How and where is digital consumption shifting across the fragmented device landscape? What is the total reach and impact for publishers across TV, computer, and mobile? How do these patterns evolve into a cohesive measurement solution to drive media and advertising strategies? About our teamWere a small but powerful team of data junkies, analyzing over 20 TB of data each day to deliver product and research solutions to our clients. We use SQL, Hadoop, Python, and many other tools every day. We deliver solutions at scale, supporting measurement products in countries around the world. We work with Product Management and clients directly to understand what problems to solve and partner with technology teams to bring solutions to market. We use tools like Slack and Jira to communicate effectively. We love to learn, love to laugh, and love to tackle hard data problems.

     

    What You'll Do:

    • Research and develop data solutions to meet market or client needs for audience measurement reporting, including creation of new data products or unlocking new data capabilities.
    • Test research concepts, integrate into existing data delivery environments, and bring data solutions to market.
    • Participate in ongoing research and evaluation of new technologies, capabilities, or emerging data assets.
    • Collaborate with teams in Software Engineering, Statistics, and Product Management to deliver timely and quality data.
    • You will be the knowledge expert, delivering quality and timely solutions to our clients.

    What You'll Need:

    • Bachelors degree in a quantitative subject such as Stats, Engineering, Econ, Computer Science, etc.Experience in data analysis, data science, or creative problem solving with large data sets.
    • Minimum of 2 years of RELEVANT, DATA ANALYSIS, PROFESSIONAL (non educational) experience.
    • Experience with multiple languages for efficiently retrieving, linking, and working with large data sets.
    • Ability to think creatively, solve complex problems, and clearly communicate the data story.
    • Highly motivated with ability to push beyond barriers.
    • Ability to autonomously manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • The nature of the teams dynamics will require an individual that is able to work closely in a collaborative setting and complete tasks individually as assigned.
