    Job Title: Brand Communications Associate

    Location: New York, NY

    Reports To: Manager, Brand

    The Brand Communications Associate will help bring important insights to market, drive awareness of the Comscore brand through creative storytelling, and cultivate strong relationships with journalists covering the technology and media sectors.

    The ideal candidate is a communications professional with an acumen for business & data analysis and creative storytelling. They will have a base knowledge of public relations from press release writing to media outreach, as well as be able to interpret data from Comscore's vast datasets and package the data into actionable insights for use in thought leadership.

    What does a Brand Communications Associate do at Comscore?

    The Brand Communications Associate reports into the Brand Manager and is responsible for providing support and assistance for a variety of communications and marketing initiatives including, but not limited to:

    • Drafting Comscore press releases and managing inbound partner/client press releases with oversight from the Brand Manager
    • Developing topic-appropriate media pitches, media plans and assisting with media outreach
    • Monitoring and researching topical news subjects and editorial calendars
    • Overseeing corporate communications internal planning documents such as placement trackers and content calendars
    • Engaging with Comscore data to surface interesting findings and market-relevant insights in support of thought leadership initiatives
    • Gathering data to fulfill inbound media data requests
    • Developing the social media content calendar with oversight from the Brand Manager
    • Drafting bylines and blog content with oversight from the Brand Manager
    • Assisting with award and speaker submissions
    • Other activities in support of the Comscore brand and corporate messaging

     

    This role sits within Comscore’s world-class global marketing team and will be expected to partner often with teammates who special in Product Marketing, Events, Marketing Ops, as well as Regional Marketing in Europe, APAC, LATAM and North America.

     

    What skills will help ensure your success?

     

    • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
    • Coursework with a strong focus in marketing, communications, journalism and/or public relations
    • Experience within college coursework or internships in mass communications (journalism, public relations), marketing, advertising, corporate communications, digital marketing and content creation (blogging, social media management); experience at media measurement firms, local television stations, advertising agencies, national TV networks or digital publishers a major “plus”
    • Understanding of AP Style, and strong writing and grammatical abilities
    • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) skills a must; experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
    • Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal
    • Strong organization and traffic management skills
    • Proactive, independent thinker with high energy/positive attitude; willingness to take on a variety of projects and tasks of varying types with equal enthusiasm
    • Ability to interact effectively with peers in a team-oriented operating structure, while also taking the initiative and working independently when necessary
