    Job Title: VP Big Data & DevOps

    Location:  Reston, VA


    About This Role:

    Comscore is a leading big data technology company that measures what matters to make cross-platform audiences and advertising more valuable. We are seeking a Vice President who will be responsible for the design and development of our Big Data infrastructure and who will lead the DevOps team across all engineering teams.  The VP is responsible for working with Product, Operations and Infrastructure teams to prioritize initiatives and products, and ensure the team delivers architecturally sound systems that manage cost while improving quality and increasing our velocity of product delivery.


    What You'll Do:

    • Leverage a variety of frameworks and methods to develop and promote architecture
    • Collaborate with the other engineering leaders in defining the next generation architecture for Comscore’s platform
    • Implement solutions using a comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application and system engineering
    • Drive strategic alignment of Technology with the business and creating a common architecture vision with Technology and line of business leaders
    • Identify, analyze and propose Technology architecture
    • Support full end-to-end product life cycle from conception to delivery to ongoing operations
    • Interact with senior leaders and adapt style as needed for technical or non-technical audiences
    • Leverage strong quantitative and analytical abilities with deep understanding of the business to develop solutions to challenging opportunities


    What You'll Bring:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field; advanced degrees preferred
    • 8+ years’ progressive software engineering and technology management experience with a minimum of 5+ years delivering technology solutions; developing designs and setting architecture strategy.
    • 5+ years’ experience successfully managing, leading and developing a team of technical professionals required.
    • Service-oriented architecture, product build and delivery experience, and deep knowledge of cloud technologies
    • Progressive experience developing, implementing and supporting software solutions from the ground up, end to end
    • Knowledge of Software Programming concepts: Understands source code control and tools; has detailed knowledge of one or more programming languages; uses common development tools for required language, platform, database, middleware and environment
    • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally and build relationships with a diverse group of executives, managers, vendors and subject matter experts.
    • Ability to effectively communicate abstract concepts in verbal and written, and visual forms.
    • Ability to translate technical information into business language and concepts.
