    Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

    Location: Reston, VA

    Comscore's platform team is integral in building foundational services and software that make it easy for application teams to develop, integrate, secure, and monitor applications and APIs. Our software and services are the glue that tie together data, applications, operations, and corporate systems. Our goal is to ensure that our customer's experience with Comscore is simple, insightful, secure, and reliable.

     

    We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our platform team. An ideal candidate should have experience in software development and systems engineering. You will design, build, and manage complex distributed service eco-systems with a focus on security and availability of data and services, while maintaining high software quality standards. Hands-on microservice and API development skills are a must, while some front-end development is expected too.

     

    What You’ll Do

     

    -Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate program requirements into technical solutions and system designs

    -Develop and maintain scalable distributed systems across hybrid cloud environments

    -Front end development of services and web components, leveraging modern web stacks and libraries such as Node.js, React, and Angular

    -Drive the implementation and integration of tools and services for authentication, authorization, data security, and secrets management

    -Collaborate with other engineering & business teams to execute against the vision and roadmap 

     

    What You’ll Need

     

    -At least 3 years of hands-on coding experience in two of the following languages: Node.js, Python, Java, C/C++.

    -Ability to write high quality code: reliable, efficient, easy to debug and maintain

    -Full stack skill sets to work efficiently on various projects including back end and front-end development, as well as be able to understand and work with infrastructure and deployment teams

    -Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills

    -Strong communication skills

    -Strong organizational and relationship skills

    -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related areas

     

    Nice to Have

     

    -Understand container systems such as Kubernetes

    -Demonstrate understanding of service discovery and service mesh concepts

    -Developed system and data security concepts

    -Familiarity with big data technologies

    -Knowledge with CI/CD and modern release engineering concepts and technologies 

    -Security experience would be a plus
